What does a general cargo transport cost?
The shipping calculator names your price in seconds — free of charge, without obligation and without going through a sales desk.
Four figures determine the amount: the distance between pickup and delivery, the weight, the dimensions of your packages — which give the loading metres — and the transit time you choose. Diesel and toll surcharges and basic insurance are already part of the price shown. The only additions are what you book yourself: driver notification, pallet exchange or extended transport insurance.
Whether general cargo is the cheapest option depends on the quantity. Up to six packages or 2.4 loading metres your goods share the truck with other shipments and you pay only your share. Above that the larger transport types are worth a look — the calculator points out the cheaper one by itself.

Transit times and delivery options for general cargo transport
Two shipping types are available for your consignment. Both include the same services — they differ in transit time and in how precisely pickup and delivery can be scheduled. Which one is offered for your route is shown by the calculator together with the price.

Across the border it takes longer: we reach neighbouring countries in 2–3 working days and more distant EU destinations in 4–7. The transit time that applies to your shipment is fixed before you book — together with the price.
Packing your general cargo shipment correctly
Packing happens at the sender, and so does the responsibility for it: if goods reach the truck insufficiently packed, insurance cover can lapse in the event of damage. How you proceed depends on the weight of the individual package — from 30 kg the shipment belongs on a pallet, below that a carton will do.
Packages up to 29 kg
Shipping in a carton
- 1 Wrap delicate items individually in bubble wrap.
- 2 Choose a carton one size larger: there is space all round and the goods do not touch the walls.
- 3 Fill voids with loose fill, foam or polystyrene until nothing moves inside the carton.
- 4 Cover anything that does not fit a carton completely with film and cardboard — edges and corners in particular.
- 5 Mark the shipment as non-stackable if nothing may be placed on top of it.
- 6 Stick the shipping label on the top face last, clearly visible, and remove any old labels first.
Packages from 30 kg
Shipping on a pallet
- 1 Place the goods in a carton first where possible; protect bulky items with film and cardboard.
- 2 Use a sound euro pallet — damaged or rotten pallets will not carry the load.
- 3 Position the goods centrally, distribute the weight evenly and let nothing overhang the pallet edge.
- 4 Wrap with stretch film and secure against slipping with strapping or lashing straps; add edge protectors for heavy loads.
- 5 Fit a pallet cone if the shipment is not stackable.
- 6 Attach the shipping label to the long side, clearly visible and not underneath the film.
