Less Than Truckload (LTL) – Affordably Ship More Than One Pallet
Multiple pallets, but not a complete truck? Partial loads – cheaper than FTL, faster than general cargo.
Book and ship a part load with NexCargo
Do you have a shipment that takes up more than six pallet spaces, measures over 2.4 loading metres or weighs more than 2,500 kg? From that size we handle your transport as a part load — LTL in freight terms. Your goods stay together as one unit and share the vehicle with only a few other shipments instead of the entire groupage network.
With us you book your part load quickly and entirely online in a few clicks. Our partner network of vetted hauliers then takes care of the run. Whether a domestic transport, international forwarding to 23 European countries or a trip to a non-EU country such as Switzerland — freight papers and the customs declaration are part of the job, so your goods do not sit at the border.
Price and transit time are settled before you book: you enter dimensions, weight and the two addresses, and our platform gives you matching transport options with delivery times in real time. You pick one and place the order in the same run-through — part loads start at €149.

How much does an LTL transport cost at NexCargo?
Our free shipping cost calculator works out the price of your part load in seconds — no sign-up, no quote request by email.
Two things drive the price above all: the space your goods take up on the vehicle, and the distance between pickup and delivery. On a part load you do not pay for the whole truck but for your share of it — the more pallet spaces, loading metres and weight, the larger that share. Non-stackable goods take up more floor space than their volume suggests.
Tolls and diesel hit hardest on long routes and with large vehicles, but with us they are already included in the price quoted and are not added later as a surcharge. Only what you explicitly choose comes on top: a tail lift, forklift or manual handling by the driver, a fixed delivery date or extended transport insurance. Loading via ramp, from the side or from above carries no extra charge, and neither does customs clearance for non-EU destinations such as Switzerland on standard shipments.
Example costs for shipping part loads
| Origin | Destination | Load | Total weight | Standard transit time | Optional services | Price incl. options (net) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Dortmund | Hanover | 8 euro pallets | 2,400 kg | 0–1 business day | none | €473.00 |
| Hamburg | Nuremberg | 6 loading metres | 5,800 kg | 1–2 business days | none | €1,353.00 |
| Leipzig | Zurich | 12 euro pallets | 4,500 kg | 2–3 business days | customs clearance (no extra charge) | €1,573.00 |
| Bremen | Barcelona | 7 loading metres | 7,200 kg | 4–6 business days | tail lift at delivery | €4,101.00 |
Guide prices without warranty. The binding price depends on the pickup and delivery address, the date, the type of loading and unloading and the options chosen, and is fixed before you book.
How a part load transport runs
On a part load your goods do not travel alone: the loading space is filled with the shipments of a few other senders on the same lane. That keeps the vehicle utilised and the journey cheaper for everyone involved — while your shipment stays together as one unit and is not transhipped on the way.
This is how shipping a part load typically runs:
Example utilisation. How many shipments travel along depends on the route — your goods stay on the same vehicle throughout.
- 1
Prepare and book the shipment
Enter dimensions, weight and the two addresses, pick a quote, place the order. What matters beforehand is the packaging: palletised, fork-liftable and properly secured goods survive the journey undamaged — on a part load your goods stand next to those of other senders.
- 2
Collection from the sender
The lorry starts its run at your site. Loading via ramp, from the side or from above by the sender carries no extra charge; a tail lift, forklift or manual handling by the driver can be booked on top if you need it.
- 3
Further pickups along the route
The vehicle then usually calls at one or two more senders whose shipments travel in the same direction. The stops are planned so the loading space fills up without your transit time suffering.
- 4
Transport to the destination area
Once the lorry is loaded it runs to the destination area without interim storage. Unlike general cargo, your shipment is not transferred to other vehicles on the way. Tracking shows you where the goods are at any time.
- 5
Delivery to the consignee
At the destination, unloading follows the planned order. Unloading via ramp, from the side or from above by the consignee again carries no extra charge, and the handover is documented.
Part loads at home and across Europe
Besides domestic LTL transport within Germany, NexCargo also ships your part load across Europe. Shipments run on fixed pan-European lanes through our partner network — which is how we reach neighbouring countries in two to three working days and more distant EU destinations in four to seven.
Beyond the EU border we drive to non-EU countries such as Switzerland and the United Kingdom. There the customs declaration and export papers are part of the job and cost no extra on standard shipments.
