Full Truck Load (FTL) – Entire Truck, One Price

Complete truck loads without transshipment – direct pickup and delivery for sensitive or large goods.

Book a full truck load: an entire lorry for your shipment

On a full truck load the loading area belongs to your shipment alone. On a semi-trailer that means 13.6 loading metres, 33 pallet spaces and up to 24,000 kg payload — loaded once, unloaded once, with no transhipment and no extra handling in between.

Booking runs entirely online: enter the pickup and delivery address, pick the vehicle, place the order. For routes within Germany the calculator gives you price and transit time straight away — no phone call, no quote request by email.

Germany-wide, into other European countries or to non-EU destinations such as Switzerland: we organise the run including freight papers and the customs declaration. Cross-border full loads are calculated by our team, who come back to you with a binding quote.

What does a full truck load cost?

On a full truck load the price does not come from weight and volume but from the journey itself. It is charged per kilometre, and the rate per kilometre depends on the vehicle. Three factors determine the amount:

Vehicle and loading space required: From a sprinter with four pallet spaces to a semi-trailer with 13.6 loading metres, 33 pallet spaces and 24,000 kg payload. The rate per kilometre rises with vehicle size — from €0.80 for the sprinter, from €1.50 for the semi-trailer.

Distance between pickup and delivery address: Distance is the largest item. Because the vehicle runs exclusively for your shipment, you pay for the whole journey instead of a share of it. Diesel floater and toll are already inside the rate per kilometre and are not added on top.

Loading, unloading and additional services: Loading over a dock, from the side or from above carries no surcharge. A tail lift, a forklift or manual loading by the driver does. On top of that come optional services such as a fixed date, extended transport insurance or the customs declaration for runs to non-EU countries like Switzerland.

Example costs for a full truck load

Distance × the rate per kilometre of the vehicle · net prices, plus VAT

Route Distance Vehicle Standard transit Guide price from (net)
Cologne → Frankfurt approx. 195 km Truck 7.5 t · 15 pallet spaces 0–1 business day €224.25
Dortmund → Leipzig approx. 480 km Truck 12 t · 18 pallet spaces 1 business day €624.00
Berlin → Stuttgart approx. 635 km Semi-trailer 40 t · 33 pallet spaces 1–2 business days €952.50
Hamburg → Munich approx. 790 km Semi-trailer 40 t · 33 pallet spaces 1–2 business days €1,185.00

Guide values without guarantee. The binding price depends on the pickup and delivery address, the date, how loading and unloading are handled and the options you choose — and is fixed before you book.

How a full truck load runs

A full truck load is the direct route for large quantities: one vehicle carries your shipment and nothing else. Between loading and unloading there is no transhipment depot and no intermediate stop.

This is how sending a full truck load works:

Sender

Loading over a dock, from the side or from above — no surcharge

The lorry takes your goods straight to their destination, with no detour

Consignee

Unloading over a dock, from the side or from above — no surcharge

  1. 1. Preparing the goods

Pack the goods so they travel safely — cardboard, bubble wrap, edge protection and straps are the usual means. Nothing should protrude beyond the packaging, and from 30 kg the shipment belongs on a pallet or another fork-liftable packing unit.

  2. 2. Pickup at the sender

The vehicle comes to the pickup address — today if you book by 10 am, tomorrow, or on the date of your choice. The goods are loaded and secured for the journey.

  3. 3. Direct run to the destination

Because the entire load is destined for a single consignee, the lorry runs through without transhipment and without an intermediate stop. Reloading, and the delays that come with it, do not happen. Tracking shows you where your goods are at any time.

  4. 4. Unloading and handover

At the destination the load is unloaded directly and handed over to the consignee. An automatic email reports every change of status — to you and to your consignee.

Full truck loads at home and across Europe

Your full truck load does not have to stop at the border. Alongside transports within Germany we take whole loads across Europe — over a network of vetted transport partners covering the routes that matter.

Across several borders too the goods stay on one vehicle: no transhipment, no intermediate stop. For runs to non-EU countries such as Switzerland we handle the export declaration and customs clearance. Our team calculates the price for cross-border full loads and comes back with a binding quote.
