Shipping to Spain: customs, route, transit time
Customs and documents
Spain is part of the EU single market: no customs declaration, no import duties. A commercial invoice, delivery note and CMR are sufficient. The recipient's Spanish VAT number is required for the zero-rated intra-Community supply. The Canary Islands are an exception: they lie outside the customs territory and require full customs clearance.
Route and transit time
Distance drives transit time: Catalonia and the greater Barcelona area are reachable in three to four business days, Madrid in four to five, Andalusia in five to six. The route crosses the Pyrenees — when individual passes close in winter, traffic diverts to the coastal route, which can add one to two days.
Typical consignments and coverage
This lane carries machinery, construction supplies, automotive parts and retail goods. The industrial regions of Catalonia, the Basque Country and Valencia are best connected. For Andalusia, Galicia and Extremadura, allow one to two additional days. The Balearics are served by ferry and need two to three days more; the Canary Islands require separate handling because of their customs status.
