What matters when arranging panel shipping
One simple rule applies to panels: transport them standing, never flat. Flat panels sag under their own weight, and any load above bears on the face instead of the edge. On an A-frame or panel rack the panel stands on its narrow side — precisely the direction of loading it is designed for.
A separating layer of cardboard or foam belongs between panels, and an angle profile on the edges. Glass and natural stone should also be visibly labelled so they are not turned during handling. Mind the weight: a granite slab of 2 × 1 metres at 3 cm thickness weighs around 160 kg — the pallet must be rated for it and the unloading point equipped with a forklift.
State the format, thickness, weight and transport position at booking. The note about upright transport belongs in every booking because it determines the vehicle: glass and stone panels need an A-frame, which not every run carries. A forklift must be available at the recipient — an upright panel rack cannot be set down safely by liftgate.
