What matters when arranging machinery shipping
With machinery the centre of gravity matters more than the total weight. Many machine tools carry their mass high in the housing and tip under acceleration or braking even though the pallet is nominally rated for the load. Bolt the machine to the pallet deck or a timber frame rather than merely lashing it down.
Moving parts belong locked before transport: slides, spindles, hydraulic cylinders and doors. Otherwise they hammer against their end stops for the whole journey. Drain operating fluids such as oil and coolant beforehand — under vibration they escape even from closed systems. For machines above 1,000 kg or with oversize dimensions, clarify vehicle type and loading method by phone in advance.
For booking we need the weight, the outer dimensions including packaging, the centre of gravity and the unloading situation. Above 1,000 kg or with oversize dimensions we clarify vehicle and loading method individually — a short call is faster than any form here. For machines with a fixed commissioning date, a scheduled delivery is the right choice: otherwise the engineer stands in front of a machine still in transit.
