Which liquids can be shipped in IBC containers?
Food, water, non-hazardous chemicals, cleaning agents and many other liquids. For hazardous substances (ADR classes 3, 8, 9) please enquire in advance – we check transportability.
Do IBC containers need to be certified for transport?
For hazardous substances IBC containers need UN approval (e.g. 31H1). No special certification is required for non-hazardous contents, but tightness and condition are checked.
How are IBC containers loaded?
IBC containers stand on an integrated metal frame and are loaded by forklift. A forklift is also required on the recipient's side – or order with liftgate.
Can empty IBC containers also be shipped?
Yes, empty IBCs (rinsed and dried) are transported as normal shipments. Recommendation: rinse and allow to dry before shipping. Declare contents (even if empty).
How much does shipping an IBC container cost?
A full 1,000-litre IBC weighs approx. 1,000–1,300 kg (depending on contents). Use our price calculator with weight and dimensions (typically 120 × 100 × 116 cm) for an immediate quote.
