I am a gunsmith and send customer firearms for repair — what do I need for that?
As a gunsmith with a valid permit under § 21 WaffG you may ship firearms for repair, inspection or modification. You need your gunsmith permit as proof and a record of the shipment in the firearms register. The firearm must be unloaded, secured and handed over in a locked, opaque container.
I inherited a firearm and need to bring it to a dealer — can I ship it with NexCargo?
In the case of inheritance you have 4 weeks to register the firearm or hand it over to a dealer. As an heir without WBK you can have the firearm shipped through a licensed dealer — not as a private shipment. Contact us: we coordinate the legally compliant transfer together with you and a dealer.
Does a firearm need special shipping for a proof test?
Yes, shipping for a proof test also falls under § 29 WaffG and requires the corresponding proof (gunsmith permit or dealer license). The firearm must be unloaded and secured. NexCargo is familiar with the requirements of the German proof houses and ensures smooth processing.
How long does the processing take — when will pickup occur?
After receipt of your complete documents, pickup usually takes place the next business day. Delivery takes 1–2 business days depending on the route. For urgent repair returns we offer express pickup on the same day — please contact us by phone.
Can I ship a CO2 pistol or airsoft weapon the same way as a real firearm?
Non-licensable weapons such as CO2 pistols under 7.5 joules or airsoft weapons (marked F in a pentagon) can be shipped as normal parcel shipments — without a firearms license. For air guns over 7.5 joules we recommend checking first. When in doubt we treat the shipment cautiously as a licensable firearm.
